Los Angeles, CA (January 2009) – As the official champagne of the Golden Globe Awards for the past seventeen years, Moët & Chandon is the toast of Hollywood, providing sparkling moments for film and television’s brightest stars and the entertainment industry’s biggest players. To commemorate the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Moët & Chandon has partnered with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to invite all attending celebrities to lend their names to charity by signing an extraordinary 12-liter Balthazar bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne on the red carpet at this year’s awards.
After being signed on the red carpet by Hollywood’s leading stars, Moët & Chandon will donate the rare oversized bottle to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to be auctioned at the Stars for a Cause spring fundraiser by reputed auction house Bonhams & Butterfields. The donated bottle will be auctioned with proceeds benefiting a charity of the HFPA.
“Moët & Chandon has a long- established affiliation with the Hollywood Foreign Press and the many charitable organizations it supports,” says Stephen LoCascio of The Michael Russell Group, a spokesman for the HFPA. “The HFPA is proud to join with Moët and other partners in this philanthropic endeavor.”
To christen celebrations at the 66th Golden Globes, mini Moëts with their chic mini flutes will be served to the stars on the red carpet, magnums of Moët & Chandon White Star will be served with the dinner and throughout the awards. “Moët & Chandon is honored to be a proud partner of the Golden Globe Awards and the Stars for a Cause charity,” says Gabrielle Schooley, Moët & Chandon US Business Director. “It is a great opportunity for us to celebrate achievement and to give back to worthy causes. We hope that all of Hollywood will join us by gifting us their autographs during this year’s awards season.”
