Twice Golden Globe nominee Alicia Vikander will surprise her fans in her upcoming movie, Tomb Raider. Vikander trained like an Olympian athlete to become the iconic action heroine, but music is always an inspiration for her roles.

“It’s music that gets to me on an emotional level,” she told us. “When I make films, music is a direct access to emotions and sadly, you don’t get to really have the final soundtrack with you on set. So I normally create my own and bring my earphones to set. It’s normally music without any lyrics because lyrics can kind of make me start to study it too much or think about things.  Music is also a nice way to keep the momentum between takes and sometimes that means that I have my own space. It can be a range of electronic music, techno, down to classic and jazz. Growing up as a ballet dancer I was introduced to classical music more than anything- I played the violin for seven years- but today I embrace it all.”
