On Music: Matt Damon, Huge Fan
Two-time Golden Globe winner Matt Damon will be the darling of two of the most important summer film festivals, Venice and Toronto, with two movies: Alexander Payne’s Downsizing and George Clooney’s Suburbicon. As a producer, he’s in pre-production on the series City on the Hill. As both actor and producer, how important is music for you? we asked him.
“Huge. Really big. In fact, I think music is key. I have worked with some directors who play music on set to get the mood going, and that is very helpful. It’s funny, I have the soundtrack to Hamilton in my head right now because my kids, they love it and I love it too and we have been listening to it. Sometimes I will play music when I read a script. if I am reading it again and again, I would play music. Music can really transport you. “
