On Music: Scoring Is John Boyega’s Thing
Star Wars’ John Boyega is one of fastest rising names in the industry, with a strong part director Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit, and the upcoming Pacific Rim: Uprising. Born in London in a Nigerian family, Boyega loves all kinds of music and is quick to point out his favorite compose:
“Hans Zimmer is my favorite composer, and so I listen to him to and from the set. A lot of the times when you guys watch our movies, you just watch it in the context of the timeline the movie gives you, but when I watch it, I watch it and go, that scene, it was 3:30 AM and I had a belly ache, and I am still trying to keep composure. (laughter) So it’s hard sometimes to get that inspiration for the day, so I listen to a lot of score music. Scoring is my thing. I love one day to do my own movie, write it, direct it, star in it and I hope Hans Zimmer will do the soundtrack”.
