On Music: Shailene Woodley- Music as Medicine
The best selling novel Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty is now a seven episode HBO mini series written for TV by David E. Kelley and starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley. Shailene plays Jane, the single mother of a sweet and smart son who gets accused of bullying on his first day of school. Director Jean Marc-Vallée is famous for playing music on the set, so we asked Shailene how important music is to her:
“It’s so important. To me, music is important for emotional scenes, and it’s really important for high vibe scenes, like jacked up scenes, where you are meant to have a lot of adrenaline and energy. Music is sort of that medicine that allows you to get to a certain state of mind in two seconds that reality would normally take a lot longer.”
