Lady Gaga, Jake Gyllenhaal to Present at HFPA’s Grants Banquet
Lady Gaga and Jake Gyllenhaal have joined an all-star roster of presenters at the HFPA’s Annual Grants Banquet Dinner, on Thursday, August 13, at Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Lady Gaga will soon be seen in FX’s series American Horror Story: Hotel. Two-time Golden Globe nominee Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the adventure drama Everest, directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Grants to various non-profit entertainment-related organizations and scholarship programs will be announced at the event by, among others, Halle Berry, Bryan Cranston, America Ferrara, Saoirse Ronan, Andrew Garfield, Benicio del Toro, Sarah Silverman, Joe Manganiello, Elizabeth Banks, Jon Hamm, Jane Fonda, Elliot Page, Sharon Stone, Brie Larson and Dakota Johnson. This year, the HFPA will grant in excess of $2 million in funding to various non-profits, topping last year’s contributions of more than $1.9 million. Through the years the Association has granted a total of $23.9 million to a host of institutions and projects, ranging from higher education and preservation of films to training, mentoring and promoting cultural exchange through cinema.
