Nice View (China)

This Chinese comedy-drama follows the story of an orphaned brother and sister duo surviving alone. Jing Hao lives with his 6-year-old sister, Tong. Their father left them, and their mother died of an illness which Tong has inherited.
20-year-old Jing Hao goes to Shenzhen to live with his young sister. The siblings live a warm yet straitened life. After the sudden death of their mother Jing Hao, takes over the responsibility of looking after his little sister, Tong Tong. Jing realizes that his sister needs surgery before she turns eight. To pay for his sister’s expensive surgery and his bills, he looks for odd jobs. He comes across a way to turn his life around and immediately grabs the opportunity. While he thinks that a better life is coming, he unexpectedly encounters a serious setback. Under the pressure of both time and money, Jing Hao, who has no way out, decides to take on a desperate gamble.
The movie centers around lessons about hard work and never giving up. Jing Hao faces a lot of difficulties. He almost loses hope many times. Instead, he fights on and five years later, he establishes himself as the CEO of Nice View company. Jing Hao made his sister’s surgery possible and also made a good name for himself. No matter how hard it is, no matter how frustrating it seems at times, he understands that the best way to deal with it is to fight on and not give up. One day the struggle will be fruitful, and it’ll be all worth it.
Nice View is directed by Wen Muye and is his second feature film. It stars Jackson Yee as Jing Hao, Chen Halin as Jing Tong, Yu Tian as Liang Yongcheng and Xi Qi as Wang Chunmei. The film was released in China on February 1, 2022, the first day of the Chinese New Year and became a holiday favorite with the headlines on social media.
The film made over $211 million, making it the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2022. It was also released on Netflix on June 1, 2022.
