Podcast: Sia, Golden Globes Around The World
Throughout the history of the Golden Globes, music has been an important reflection of the times. As we look back during our 80-Day Countdown to the Globes this week, we look at stories on this website about 1953, a great year for musicals with five memorable Hollywood musicals nominated for Best Comedy/Musical.
The 10th Golden Globe Awards Ceremony was held on February 26, 1953, at the Ambassador Hotel in Hollywood, and the winning musical was With a Song in My Heart, starring Susan Hayward and Rory Calhoun. The film had some tough competition, beating out nominees: Singin’ in the Rain, with Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’ConnorStars and Stripes Forever, with Clifton WebbI’ll See You in My Dreams, with Doris Day and Danny Thomas, and Hans Christian Anderson, with Danny Kaye.
