We spoke to Karen Black in February 2011 at the UCLA Festival of Film Preservation’s screening of Robert Altman’s Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean in which she gave one of her signature performances. She talked with us about Altman, whom she had previously worked with on Nashville,  and about the groundbreaking ethos of American cinema in the 1960’s and 70’s, a creative and artistic movement on which she left an indelible mark.
