Vintage Cannes: 1994 – Here Comes Quentin Tarantino

One of the key powers of Cannes is its ability to create a brand new talent for the world to see. In 1994, this talent was Quentin Tarantino.

His second feature, Pulp Fiction, took the Croisette by storm and led to the inevitable Palme d’Or (and later six nominations and a Golden Globe). There he is – facing a sea of journalists, under the eyes of Bruce Willis, one of Pulp Fiction‘s stars,  and Kathleen Turner, in Cannes with John Waters’s Serial Mom, Quentin Tarantino basks in the joy of victory,  explaining something precise and mysterious about the film that sealed the year 1994.
