WHAT A SWELL PARTY IT WAS!

WHAT A SWELL PARTY IT WAS! What a night it was….an evening of laughter, merriment, sentiment and more than a few tears which reached a climax as the audience in the International Ballroom at the Beverly Hilton burst into wild applause when Harrison Ford presented the final Golden Globe for  Best Picture  to the producers of The Descendants. Then, the three-hour show over, the room gradually emptied emptied and the stars, some clutching their newly-won Golden Globes, headed off to various parties around the hotel. George Clooney and his young co-star Shailene Woodley joined Rupert Murdoch, Fox executives, and the casts of Glee, Homeland and America Horror Story in a tent set up next to the May Co. building. Guests who preferred not to walk were ferried there by golf cart. Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams and the actors from the Artist, including Uggie the dog,  were guests of honour at Harvey Weinstein’s party in what was the old Trader Vic’s restaurant while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked in at the Sony party in the hotel’s 8th floor Stardust Room. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr were at the InStyle/Warner Bros. party in the Oasis courtyard while a popular outdoor venue, despite a rain shower,  was the HBO bash held at poolside and attended by Steve Buscemi, Martin Scorsese, Nicole Kidman, Paul Giamatti, Piper Perabo, Chris Noth, Brendan Gleeson and Tim Robbins.
