The Style of the Golden Globes:Phoebe Waller-Bridge Supports Australia
Phoebe Waller-Bridge may have scooped up two Golden Globes for her show Fleabag, but now she is literally giving the suit off her back for a good cause. Waller-Bridge who wore a one-of-a-kind couture tuxedo created by Australian designers Ralph and Russo on the night, is auctioning it on eBay to benefit the relief efforts for the continuing wildfire disaster in Australia. “I’d normally be so heartbroken to let go of something this exquisite but in this case I am so excited that this suit will have an onward journey and if money raised by its auction can help raise funds to fight the disaster in Australia, the future impact of this suit will be far greater than the luck it brought me and the Fleabag team at the Golden Globes last weekend,” said Waller-Bridge who also personally autographed the suit. Opening bids start at $54,000 and is open to all international bidders with an eBay account. The auction will run for 10 days and all the proceeds will benefit the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund which will help Red Cross emergency teams; and WIRES Wildlife Rescue Emergency Fund and Wildlife Victoria who are both on the ground assisting in the rehabilitation and recovery of thousands of Aussie wildlife.
