The 56th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) took place from July 1 - 9, 2022, ending on Saturday evening with a Closing Night ceremony at the Grand Hall of the spa town’s Hotel Thermal.  Although canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, with a scaled-down physical event taking place in 2021, the Festival returned on a grand scale, bigger and better than ever.

Evil personified, The Grabber is a magician who spends his spare time as a sadistic masked serial killer-turned-kidnapper.

One thing is for certain: programmers at the Bologna Film Festival are equal opportunity film lovers. Cinema Ritrovato – the official name of this yearly celebration of cinema classics – is nothing if not eclectic.

Exactly 60 years ago, an unusual film opened at the Venice film festival.
