World Box Office July 2 – 8, 2018

So, who’s the real winner at the global box office this week? According to most reports out of the United States, it’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, which generated $76 million domestically and $85 million internationally for a global gross of $161 million. Numbers not comparable with Avengers: Infinity War or Black Panther earlier this year, but the 20th film by the Marvel Cinematic Universe starring Paul Rudd as the titular superhero and Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp always had smaller ambitions.

Z, The Confession, State of Siege, Missing, Music Box are some of the seminal films by Greek director and Golden Globe winner Constantin Costa-Gavras who in a long career which began in 1965 established himself as one of the most relevant masters of political thrillers. Today, at 85, the filmmaker has just published his first book in French, Va où il est impossible d’aller, a captivating autobiography whose title, taken from writer Nikos Kazantzakis (Zorba the Greek, The Last Temptation of Christ) translates to Journey Where it is Impossible to Go.

HFPA in Conversation: Jared Harris on School, Mad Men and Terror

When English actor Jared Harris and the HFPA journalist Nellee Holmes met at the AMC offices he revealed what happened on the Mad Men set when he was directing the episode 'Time & Life': “There were some pretty crazy moments because by then it was season seven and all those guys, they knew each other really well and they were really comfortable with each other.   And the guys had started this game where when you weren't watching, they would whack you in the balls with their fingers and try to whip your nuts.
