The Young Hollywood party celebrating Miss Golden Globe combines an assortment of top stars, emerging talent and interesting garb. Thursday night at Catch LA was no exception.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has selected Sistine, Sophia and Scarlet Stallone as Miss Golden Globe 2017 for the 74th Annual Golden Globe® Awards. HFPA President Lorenzo Soria made the announcement revealing for the first time ever that a trio is receiving the title.

Venezuelan director’s Lorenzo Vigas debut film, From Afar, is somewhat of a mystery thriller, but also much more. The film tells the story of a middle aged man, Armando (played by Chilean actor Alfredo Castro, seen in No and The Club), a wealthy but lonely man with a habit of luring young men to his home with the promise of money.

On a recent evening an unusual cinematic event took place in Hollywood thanks to a generous $350,000 grant given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to the American Cinematheque - for the first time in more than half a century, movie enthusiasts watched a public projection of a film made of a dangerous and explosive material, nitrate. Today nitrate is an obscure material, in little use.

Part of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s mission is to foster greater understanding through world cinema. This year over 90 foreign language films were submitted for Golden Globe consideration.
