Sharon Stone was presented with the inaugural Golden Globe International Icon Award in a ceremony celebrating her achievements on and off screen including her philanthropy work and artwork. With a focus on the international entertainment marketplace, the Golden Globes will present its International Icon Award in a different country in recognition of the ongoing impact and partnership developing in overseas entertainment centers.

This year's Comic-Con marks the return to the traditional comic convention since 2019, after surviving the COVID-19 pandemic and last year’s Hollywood strikes. "Girl," the story of a young trans dancer, was nominated as best foreign film at the 2018 Golden Globes. "Close," about the friendship of two teenagers who are tragically separated, was nominated for foreign film at the 2023 Golden Globes.

The official poster of the 77th Festival de Cannes is a scene from "Rhapsody in August" by the great Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. It's a fitting choice because Asia is strongly represented at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
