Arthur Kennedy
John Arthur Kennedy (born in Worcester, Massachusetts, February 17, 1914, died January 5, 1990), a stage actor, was cast by James Cagney to play his brother in City for Conquest (1940). He acted in movies like High Sierra (1941) with Ida Lupino and Humphrey Bogart, They Died with Their Boots On (1941) with Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, Champion (1949) with Kirk Douglas, The Glass Menagerie (1950) from the 1944 play by Tennessee Williams, Bright Victory (1951). He acted with James Stewart in two westerns directed by Anthony Mann, Bend of the River (1952) and The Man from Laramie (1955), with Glenn Ford in Trial (1955), with Lana Turner in Peyton Place (1957), with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine in Some Came Running (1958) by Vincent Minnelli, with Burt Lancaster in Elmer Gantry (1960) by Richard Brooks.
