Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis was born in San Francisco, California, on February 21, 1969. After a long career in different roles in TV series and movies, in the 2000s she started to work in film projects such as Men of Honor (2000), Undercover Brother (2002), Ray (2004), and in TV series like The Mentalist (2010 – 2013), NCIS – Los Angeles (2012 – 2017), Quantico (2015 – 2017). In 2020 she took part in the acclaimed American Horror Drama Lovecraft Country as Hippolyta Freeman, and received her first Golden Globe nomination for the role of Brandi Williams, mother of sisters Venus and Serena, in the biographical drama film King Richard of 2021 based on the life of the two famous American tennis champions.
