Ayo Edebiri
Ayo Edebiri (born Oct. 3, 1995, in Boston) is a Golden Globe nominee for her performance in The Bear, which debuted in 2022.
She starred in 2AM and Killer Films’ Omni Loop, which premiered at South by Southwest.
Upcoming are 20th Century Studios’ Ella McCay, directed by James L. Brooks, and A24’s Opus.
Edebiri has starred in the high school fight-club comedy Bottoms from MGM’s Orion Pictures and Brownstone Productions; and Searchlight Pictures’ Theater Camp plus lent her voice to Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. She also had a role in The Sweet East, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
On television, Edebiri hosted on Saturday Night Live’s 49th season and guest starred as Quinta Brunson’s sister in Abbott Elementary. Edebiri also served as a consulting producer and writer for FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, for which she received a 2023 WGA nomination.
In animation, Edebiri voices the character Missy in Netflix’s show Big Mouth, on which she was also a writer. She also stars in Netflix’s animated Mulligan and in Max’s reboot of the animated series Clone High.
