Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo (born Nov. 28, 1969, in Philadelphia, PA) had a banner year in 2023, playing Bayard Rustin in Rustin, for which he was Golden Globes-nominated, and “Mister” in The Color Purple. His career also includes his Globes-nominated work in Sing Sing and includes Fear the Walking Dead (2015) and Euphoria (2019).
He’s acted in If Beale Street Could Talk (2018), Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (2012), Lee Daniels The Butler (2013), Ava DuVernay’s Selma (2014), Nia DaCosta’s Candyman (2021) and Janicza Bravo’s Zola (2020).
He received his honorary doctorate in humane letters from Ursinus College. He is on the faculty of University of Southern California, school of dramatic arts as a professor of acting, after having served as a Juilliard School creative associate and a faculty member of the Yale school of drama.
