Derek Jacobi
Derek Jacobi (born in Leytonstone, England, October 22, 1938) performed on stage in several plays by William Shakespeare. He acted in movies like Othello (1965) with Laurence Olivier, The Day of the Jackal (1973) by Fred Zinneman, Henry V (1989) and Hamlet (1996) directed by Kenneth Branagh, Gladiator (2000) by Ridley Scott, Gosford Park (2001) by Robert Altman, The King’s Speech (2010) by Tom Hooper. He played the King in the live version of Cinderella (2015) directed by Kenneth Branagh, was part of the ensemble cast of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) directed by Kenneth Branagh from the 1934 novel by Agatha Christie. On television Jacobi acted in in I, Claudius (1976), The Tenth Man (1988), Cadfael (1994-1998), The Gathering Storm (2002), The Crown (2019-2020).
