Giuseppe Tornatore
Giuseppe Tornatore (born in Bagheria, Sicily, Italy, May 27, 1956), mostly known for writing and directing the Italian movie Cinema Paradiso (1989), which earned a Golden Globe as Best Foreign Film, wrote and directed two other Golden Globe nominated movies, Malena (2000) starring Monica Bellucci, and Baarìa (2009) about his hometown. He wrote and directed Everybody’s Fine (Stanno tutti bene, 1990) with Marcello Mastroianni, The Legend of 1900 (La leggenda del pianista sull’oceano, 1998) with Tim Roth. He wrote and directed the documentary Ennio (2022) about Italian composer Ennio Morricone who wrote the score for all 13 of his movies.
