Herbert Ross

Herbert Ross (born in Brooklyn, New York, May 13, 1927, died October 9, 2001) worked on Broadway productions as a choreographer, directed movies like Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1969), The Owl and the Pussycat (1970) and Funny Lady (1975) with Barbra Streisand, Play It Again, Sam (1972) written by and starring Woody Allen, The Sunshine Boys (1975), The Goodbye Girl (1977) and California Suite (1978) from the plays by Neil Simon, The Seven-Per-Cent Solution (1976), The Turning Point (1977) with Anne Bancroft and Shirley MacLaine, Pennies From Heaven (1981) from the TV series by Dennis Potter, Footloose (1984) with Kevin Bacon, Steel Magnolias (1989), True Colors (1991), Boys on the Side (1995).
