John Lasseter

John Lasseter (born Jan. 12, 1957, in Hollywood CA) is a studio executive who helped steer Pixar to an unprecedented run of successful films. Lasseter graduated from California Institute for the Arts in 1979 and quickly began work at Walt Disney Animation Studios. In 1984 he joined Lucasfilm’s Computer Graphics Division, which became Pixar two years later. He directed Toy Story (1995), the first computer-animated feature. He also directed A Bug’s Life (1998), Toy Story 2 (1999), Cars (2006) and Cars 2 (2011). From 2006 until 2018, he was chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation In 2019 he became head of Skydance Animation.
