Justin Hurwitz (born in Los Angeles, California, January 22, 1985) wrote the score for movies written and directed by Damien Chazelle, Whiplash (2014) with Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons, La La Land (2016) with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, for which he also wrote the song “City of Stars,” Babylon (2022) with Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, First Man (2018) with Ryan Gosling directed by Chazelle from screenplay by Josh Singer.
