Karla Sofìa Gascón

Karla Sofía Gascón (born March 31, 1972, in Madrid) began her career in Spain, but her move toMexico got her career in high gear. Her work in series and films, such as El Señor de los Cielos and Nosotros los Nobles put her on the map.

Her performance in the film Emilia Pérez, playing a macho drug lord who experiences a series of surgeries and becomes Emilia Pérez, earned her a Golden Globes nomination.

Gascón has spoken out about her transition, and has inspired members of the LGBTQ+ community and beyond, as she encourages people to live their lives with authenticity and pride. She believes that talent and authenticity, when intertwined, have the power to transform not only a person but also the world around them.
