Lawrence Kasdan

Lawrence Kasdan (born January 14, 1949, in Miami Beach, Florida), a screenwriter and film director, co-wrote the Star Wars films The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983), The Force Awakens (2015) directed by J.J. Abrams, Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) directed by Ron Howard. He wrote the screenplays for Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) directed by Steven Spielberg, The Bodyguard (1992), wrote and directed Body Heat (1981) with William Hurt and Kathleen Turner, The Big Chill (1983), Silverado (1985), The Accidental Tourist (1988), Grand Canyon (1991), Wyatt Earp (1994) with Kevin Costner and Dennis Quaid, directed French Kiss (1995) with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline.
