Luis Buñuel
Luis Buñuel (born in Calanda, Spain, February 22, 1900, died July 28, 1983) directed in France the surrealist silent short Un Chien Andalou (1929) co-written with Salvador Dalí and L’Age d’Or (1930), in Spain the documentary Las Hurdes: Tierra Sin Pan (1933). He directed in Mexico Los olvidados (1950), The Exterminating Angel (El ángel exterminador 1962), Simon of the Desert (Simón del desierto 1965), in France he directed Diary of a Chambermaid (1964) with Jeanne Moreau, Belle de Jour (1967) and Tristana (1970) starring Catherine Deneuve, The Milky Way (La Voie lactée 1969), The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (Le Charme discret de la bourgeoisie 1972, That Obscure Object of Desire (1977).
