Quincy Jones
Quincy Jones (born in Chicago, Illinois, March 14, 1933; died Nov. 3, 2024, in Bel-Air, California), a musician and winner of 28 Grammys plus four Golden Globe nominations. He wrote original songs for movies like “The Time For Love Is Anytime” for Cactus Flower (1969) and also composed the film score. He wrote the score for movies like The Pawnbroker (1964) by Sidney Lumet, In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Norman Jewison, In Cold Blood (1967) written and directed by Richard Brooks from the 1966 novel by Truman Capote, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969) by Paul Mazursky, John and Mary (1969) by Peter Yates, and The Getaway (1972) by Sam Peckinpah. Jones was a producer of The Color Purple (1985), directed by Steven Spielberg, and composed the score.
