Richard Fleischer
Richard Fleischer (born in New York City, December 8, 1917, died March 25, 2006) directed movies like Child of Divorce (1946), The Narrow Margin (1952), The Happy Time (1952). He directed Kirk Douglas in 20,000 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1954), from the 1870 novel by Jules Verne, and The Vikings (1958), Juliette Greco in Crack in the Mirror (1960) and The Big Gamble (1961), Orson Welles in Compulsion (1959). He was hired by Italian producer Dino DeLaurentiis to direct Barabbas (1961) starring Anthony Quinn and Silvana Mangano. He directed Fantastic Voyage (1966), the musical Doctor Dolittle (1967) starring Rex Harrison, The Boston Strangler (1968) with Tony Curtis, Soylent Green (1973) with Charlton Heston. He directed Laurence Oliver in the musical The Jazz Singer (1980), Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Destroyer (1984) and Red Sonja (1985) both produced by Dino De Laurentiis.
