Richard Roundtree

Richard Roundtree (born in New Rochelle, New York, July 9, 1942, died October 24, 2023) played the title role in Shaft (1971) and sequels Shaft’s Big Score! (1972), Shaft in Africa (1973), acted in Man Friday (1975) with Peter O’Toole, City Heat (1984) with Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds, Seven (1995) by David Fincher. On television he acted in several series like Roots (1977), Generations (1989-1991), Desperate Housewives (2004), Heroes (2006-2007), Being Mary Jane (2013-2019), Family Reunion (2019-2022), Cherish the Day (2022) by Ava duVernay.
