Rob Marshall
Robert “Rob’ Marshall (born October 17, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin) started as a dancer in Broadway shows, became a choreographer, a theater and television director, directed movies like Chicago (2002) with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, Renee Zellweger from the 1975 stage musical, Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) from the 1997 novel by Arthur Golden, Nine (2009) from the 1982 musical based on Federico Fellini’s 1963 movie 8 ½, Into the Woods (2014) from the 1986 musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, Mary Poppins Returns (2018) with Emily Blunt in the role played by Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins (1964).
