Golden Globes Fashion: Jaw-dropping red carpet looks from Karen Gillan, Reese Witherspoon, Dua Lipa and more
Despite the cold temperature, the 81st Golden Globe Awards’ fashion sparkled on Sunday night. Women braved the bitter breeze in body-conscious gowns. Karen Gillan wore a creative sheath of strategic cutouts and overlapping paillettes by Iris Van Herpen; Dua Lipa donned a Schiaparelli velvet sheath with embroidered gold bones and diamonds. Hailee Steinfeld wore a powder pink Prada column gown with a long train that divided in two behind her. She paired the look with sheer black gloves. Reese Witherspoon also shined in a soft pink, but as a trim to a column gown by Monique LHuillier. Andra Day was elegant in Georges Chakra, Natalie Portman, Ali Wong and Jennifer Lawrence in Dior, Riley Keough was angelic in white silk tulle, embroidered with a gold stag head revealing a bustier dress with a lace train by Chanel. At the same time, Issa Rae wore a bright orange sequined gown by Pamella Roland.
At the 81st Golden Globes, the style was endless. Gillian Anderson in a Gabriela Hearst ivory ballgown with subtle vulvas embroidered on the skirt in homage to her character on Sex Education. Emily Blunt wore Sarah Burton’s last Alexander McQueen red carpet gown. Pedro Pascal innovated in a fitted black polo with raised, white yarn dots as a black sling held his arm in place. The cause of the sling—a fall—but for us, he raised the bar of how to look eternally elegant while injured.
