The Red, Black and White of the HFPA/InStyle Party

At a star-studded event the color trends were red, black and white, while textures and prints continued to dominate. Stars hustled in from a rain soaked TIFF to display elegance and style. Modern and fresh went for ultra short, but all lengths turned up at the gala night.  Red was the main variation to an op-art color palette and shown in solid splashes. Dakota Fanning channeled Marilyn Monroe in a figure hugging scarlet gown that contrasted with her milk skin. Janelle Monáe was fierce in a black mini that concealed and revealed. Ann Hathaway impeccable in a thirties style gown.
