2023 Cannes International Film Festival

Each year the Cannes Film Festival releases an official poster to promote the festivities. The 76th edition, which runs May 16-27, pays tribute to French cinema legend Catherine Deneuve, 79.

Ildikó Enyedi was 34 years old when her first feature film, My Twentieth Century won the Camera d’Or in Cannes. It got rave reviews in the trades, and she was declared a breath of fresh air of a new class of female directors emerging from the fall of communism.

Cannes is – maybe more than any other festival – where art and commerce meet. Nothing proves this more than this year’s lineup of in and out of competition films, unveiled this morning by the festival’s director Thierry Fremaux and incoming president Iris Knobloch.
