78TH GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS FOREIGN FILMS

For the 17th year running, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association celebrated its Foreign Film nominees with the Globe Foreign-Language Nominee Symposium held in association with the American Cinematheque. The Symposium featured a virtual panel with all five directors of the nominated films in the Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language category, moderated by the HFPA's Silvia Bizio.

Leap is a sports drama directed by Peter Ho-Sun Chan and starring Gong Li and Huang Bo. It has been selected as China’s official entry in this year's International Oscar race.

A divorced mother of three, 40-something Neige (Maïwenn) is devastated after the passing of her maternal grand-father, Emir. An Algerian emigrant, settled in France since the early 60s, he had always been there for her, as a buffer against the toxicity of her parents.

When we first meet the title character in the French drama Alice, our protagonist’s domestic life appears blissful. Alice (Emilie Piponnier) is delectably cooking with her young son when her dutiful husband François (Benjamin Bourgois) comes home from work and gives off the appearance of a doting father and adoring husband.
