DC League of Super-Pets

As everybody waits to board Brad Pitt’s Bullet Train next weekend, it was an unexceptional period at the box office. DC League of Super-Pets, an animation action-adventure with a voice cast led by Dwayne Johnson (Krypto, canine pal of Superman, voiced by John Krasinski) and Kevin Hart (Ace, one of the shelter pets who also have superpowers), opened on top with a very pet-friendly $23 million.

Exciting it is not. Germany’s summer box office is about as sluggish as the – otherwise big number of – movie fans that are baking in the sun instead of flocking to the theaters.
