This year's Comic-Con marks the return to the traditional comic convention since 2019, after surviving the COVID-19 pandemic and last year’s Hollywood strikes. Still, the lines to activations, programming and the most important room at Comic-Con – the celebrated Hall H – feel a bit lighter and less crowded than usual.

 A fast-talking mercenary with a morbid sense of humor is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and a quest for revenge.

Ryan Reynolds loved the Deadpool character so much that, very early on, he decided to come on board as a producer – “to protect Deadpool, to protect the origin story of Deadpool and to protect the canon of Deadpool”, he shared with us. It took him eleven years to realize his goal, and leaving him plenty of time to perfect his fighting skills, especially with his weapon of choice, the katana swords.

Irreverent wit and high-flying action proved the keys to success for Fox's Deadpool, which ruled the box office this weekend both at home and abroad. Star Ryan Reynolds, who lobbied the studio to make the movie his way, with a hard R-rating and all of the foulmouthed humor that has won the Marvel anti-hero legions of loyal fans, led the film to a shocking $150 million over the Friday – Monday Valentine's and President's day weekend at the domestic box office.
