Cynthia Erivo is nominated for a Golden Globe for her song “Stand Up” and also in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama category. But the Broadway star is also notable on the red carpet.

With families gathered for the Thanksgiving feast there wasn’t much happening on the fashion front, but what there was, was noteworthy – especially for guys.

The young are doing things that only the young can do: messing with tradition and creating new trends. Women hogged the flashlights with dramatic outlines and statement hair, makeup and colors on the red carpet this week.

It was a black and white carpet again – and the guys came ready to represent. Many looking like they’d been dipped in milk – and it worked.

While there was color, black dominated the night at the Golden Globes Ambassador celebration at Catch in West Hollywood. .

Black is perennial and pale blue blossoms. Soft colors have surged throughout the previous season and this week soft blue patterned the carpet again.
