The HFPA announced a grant of $500,000 to Help Refugees at the annual charity event hosted in Cannes this year with Participant Media, producers of Ai Wei Wei's refugee documentary Human Flow. The award is part of the HFPA’s program of humanitarian aid, which in the past has benefitted groups like Film Aid and the Kailash Foundation.

There were big trends in Cannes. Hair close to the skull with controlled cascades down the back; braids and adornments were noticeable, too.
