What if the end of a world war does not bring freedom? What if personal freedom is something that has eluded you all your life? And what if – when you finally attain it – you don’t know what to do with this gift?All these questions are raised by Great Freedom (Grosse Freiheit, the original title). The film starts with homosexual men being secretly taped in compromising situations on the toilet and the backrooms of clubs.

Sardar Udham is an Indian biographical historical drama based on the life of Indian freedom fighter Udham Singh, who assassinated Punjab’s former Lieutenant-Governor Michael O’Dwyer in London in revenge for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar, India. In 1919, Udham was a young adult working in a textile mill near Amritsar.

Winner of the Fipresci Prize at the 2021 Berlin Festival, Brother’s Keeper is a compelling drama about hardship and fear. Ferit Karahan draws from his own experiences and turns the boarding school into a microcosm where the surrounding snow mirrors the inner coldness of the teachers.

A man, who has been released from prison, wanders the wide and desolate landscape of the Kazakh steppe looking for a job. He wears a hat, a colorful shirt and Bermuda shorts, which makes him more like a tourist than anything else.
