Golden Globes

Lorenzo Soria has been re-elected President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the 2016-2017 year. This will be Soria’s fourth term in office, following his tenure in 2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2015-2016.

As part of its commitment to clarity and transparency, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has published a new, revised edition of rules and regulations for the Golden Globe Awards. The new document, valid immediately, is yet another step in an ongoing process of revising and refining the requirements and qualifications for the Globes.

She was nominated four times for a Golden Globe award and won twice -- as Most Promising Newcomer-Female in 1962, for her supporting role in The Miracle Worker, and in 1969 as Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Motion Picture for Me, Natalie.

Larry Drake, three-time Golden Globe nominee as Best Supporting Actor in Television Drama Series has died, age 67. He earned his Globes nominations (and two Emmys) for his portrayal of Benny Stulwicz, a hulking and lovable developmentally disabled gofer and office help in the fictional law firm of the drama series L.

Happy belated 80th birthday to our six-time Golden Globe winner Alphonso Joseph D'Abruzzo, born January 28m 1936 in New York, NY - and better known as Alan Alda. Nominated 14 times, Alda received his six Globes for his work on the same show: as Captain Benjamin Pierce in the hit TV series M*A*S*H.
