For Cynthia Nixon, who was part of Sex and the City, the show that won the Globe for Best Television Series Comedy not once but in three consecutive years starting in 2000 and was herself a three-time nominee, her fondest memory is a very personal one. .

The Big Day is around the corner (Sunday, January 10 Live on NBC at 5:00 PM, 8:00 ET). We asked some of the people that have celebrated with us in the past, what some of their memories are of the Golden Globes.

Michael Jackson made one visit to the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton, in 1973. He arrived with his parents, Joe and Katherine, and took the stage to sing "Ben", nominated for Best Song, Motion Picture, for the movie of the same title.

Over the decades, the Golden Globes have had a wide range of hosts, including Dick Powell, Charles Bronson, Charlton Heston, and Raquel Welch. But after the 1995 show fronted by John Larroquette and Janine Turner, the Golden Globes Awards went 15 years without any hosts.

When Meryl Streep gave her legendary speech after winning the Cecil B. deMille Award in 2017, she got a very long-standing ovation, so it is no surprise that last year’s nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television, Cate Blanchett, when asked about her favorite Golden Globe memory, immediately thought of Meryl.

A diamond anniversary just doesn’t happen every year. It’s one of those momentous occasions that inevitably makes you think back and take stock.

The 2014 Globe-winner for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and a previous host of the show, Andy Samberg has a special place in his heart for the comedy skills of his two former fellow SNL-alumnae Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who have also hosted the Golden Globes a few times. He specifically remembers one perfectly cutting joke.
