Halloween keeps breaking records. Venom crossed the $500 million mark worldwide, with revenues from China and Japan still to be counted.

Blumhouse Productions, the horror movie powerhouse run by Jason Blum, scored another major victory at the box office with Halloween, a sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 classic. With Jamie Lee Curtis back as the iconic babysitter Laurie Strode, now a grandmother but still haunted after all these years by a masked figure called Michael Meyers, the new Halloween opened with $77.
