Angela Lee is the Director of Artist Development at Film Independent, a non-profit that aims to foster inclusion and innovation in the world of visual storytelling. Lee not only is a successful producer in her own right, but she also leads some of the most forward and relevant fiction and non-fiction storytelling labs and programs in the USA.

A contemporary of Golden Globe Nominee John Cassavetes (Faces, Shadows), arguably the father of the New American Cinema, Shirley Clark (1919-1997) is an equally seminal figure of bold and audacious indies who, due to gender and other biases, has remained an unsung hero. Early on, Clarke saw the limitations of experimental cinema and the narrow scope of exploring female subjectivity and sexual desire.

CPH PIX ('Copenhagen Pix') is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and is emerging as a major film festival, in Scandinavia and beyond. CPH PIX was born from the merger of the city’s previous festivals, Natfilm Festival, and Copenhagen International Film Festival, and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

BAFICI (the independent film festival of Buenos Aires) wrapped its19th edition leaving a great impression. Boasting a wide selection of over 400 titles from all over the world, the festival showed quality and diversity in its international, national and Latin American sections.
