Convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting drug money to an ex-girlfriend, normally law-abiding Piper Chapman is sentenced to a year and a half behind bars to face the reality of how life-changing prison can really be.

After a four-year run which has brought it a bevy of accolades including a well-deserved Golden Globe nomination for its multi-talented and multi-faceted star Tatiana Maslany, BBC America’s Canadian-born biopunk clone drama Orphan Black has made it to its fifth and final season. It's a bittersweet moment for the legions of fans that have followed the peripatetic peregrinations of Sarah Manning and the various and varied clones of Project Leda.

The wait is over for fans: OITNB Season 5 has dropped and bingers have been in overdrive, tearing through the new series, which all takes place in the space of three days after a riot broke out in last year’s finale. The HFPA’s Janet Nepales spoke to Golden Globe Nominees Taylor Schilling (Piper) and Uzo Aduba (“Crazy Eyes”) about their feelings about the show, the reasons for its worldwide appeal and the singular genius of creator and show-runner Jenji Kohan.
