Beth, Calvin, and their son Conrad are living in the aftermath of the death of the other son. Conrad is overcome by grief and misplaced guilt to the extent of a suicide attempt.

The year after Kramer vs. Kramer another family drama would take the Golden Globe for Best Film (and four more awards).

Mary Tyler Moore (December 29, 1936 – January 25, 2017) first captured the hearts of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 1965.   A year earlier the Dick Van Dyke Show had won the Globe for Best TV Show-Comedy.
