By Francine GasconPablove Shutterbug Photographer, Leukemia Survivor, age 12I was invited to meet Mr. Morgan Freeman at the launch of his new theater, The Morgan Freeman Theater at Los Angeles City College campus in East Hollywood.

Trapped, a nearly lost movie from 1949 which was restored last year thanks to a grant from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was the featured presentation at the opening night of Noir City 17, the annual festival sponsored by the Film Noir Foundation. The historic Castro movie theater in San Francisco was again the venue.

She stands just short of four feet tall in her Target dress and Steve Madden shoes, but for some she was the biggest presence at the HFPA Annual Grants Banquet red carpet.  Her name is Yasmine Leilah Malayeri -her mother is from Mexico, her father from Iran- and she was positioned at the head of the first row of press photographers covering the red carpet.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association presented $3. 25 million at their annual Grants Banquet held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
