HFPA Names Three Outside Advisors to Help Oversee New Member Selection

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Monday continued its transformation into a reimagined organization with the appointment of three external advisors who will select the group tasked with reviewing new member applicants in the coming weeks. “The creation of an Advisory Board comprised primarily of outside professionals is intended to provide an independent voice in our new member selection process starting with the selection process of the members of the Credentials Committee,” said HFPA President Helen Hoehne.

HFPA Announces New Expanded Board of Directors – Will Oversee Reform Plan

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today announced election results for a new, expanded Board and Credentials Committee, responsible for overseeing the ongoing reform plan to restructure the organization along the lines of accountability, ethics, and greater inclusion of the diversity of world journalism. Today’s results come less than three weeks after HFPA membership approved a new set of bylaws codifying the reform measures.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today announced new eligibility guidelines for future Golden Globe Award shows and events, recognizing the diversity of excellence in the world by elevating foreign language films as candidates for its top award.   Every year, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association examines its Golden Globes guidelines, considering new ways to celebrate connections of culture through film, television, and streaming platforms.
