For her feature directorial debut, Rebecca Hall wrote and produced Passing, a black-and-white drama based on the 1929 novel of the same name by Nella Larsen. The title of the book refers to African Americans whose skin was light enough to ‘pass’ as White.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women directed and written by Angela Robinson is the fascinating and biopic of Harvard psychologist and inventor Dr. William Marston, and his then unconventional relationship with his wife and lover, that became the inspiration for the creation of his iconic comic book super heroine Wonder Woman.

The remarkable and tragic story of Christine Chubbuck was center stage at the last Sundance Film Festival with both a documentary and a feature devoted to the 1970s Florida newscaster who took her own life on live television. The latter, directed by Antonio Campos, features Rebecca Hall in the title role and is an examination of Chubbuck’s depression on the backdrop of the societal and professional pressures faced by women both then and, as current events so clearly show, in today’s world.
